Ernest Noel, FGS (18 August 1831 – 20 May 1931) was member of Parliament for the Scottish seat of Dumfries Burghs from 1874 to 1886. He was chairman of the Artizans, Labourers & General Dwellings Company from 1880, during the construction of a new suburb for the working classes in Wood Green which was named "Noel Park" in his honour. ==Family== Noel was the second son of the Reverend Baptist Wriothesley Noel and Jane Noel (née Baillie). His father was the tenth son of Sir Gerard Noel and Diana, Baroness Barham and brother of Charles Noel, 3rd Baron Barham (later 1st Earl of Gainsborough).
